The Crematorium
The crematorium is where the cremation takes place, one body fits at a time and is placed in a combustible box, put into the chamber. The chambers heat and flames will reduce the deceased to ashes and small shards of bone, these remains are then put into an apparatus that grinds the pieces down to a fine powder. Then the remains are transferred to an urn that you buy or a rigid container that we supply, and brought back to our facility.
This is what happens in every cremation, all of this is included in the basic cremation costs along with the duties of the funeral director.

There are many people who are now making plans for their own funerals. It makes perfect sense, when you can choose what you would like to have at your funeral, cremation service or memorial. You can even decide on people that you may or may not want to come to your services. Legacy cremation services in Vermont will help you make these all of these plans and more.

This is an extremely important decision and we will not rush you into anything, or try and talk you into anything you don't need . Take as much time as you need, look at the brochures and our website that a wealth of information on it, and when you are ready give Vermont Legacy Cremation Services a call we will come to your home or you can back to the office and finalize all of the paperwork.
In Vermont many places will let you lock into the price of today the price will not go up tomorrow. This is also a great thing to do for your surviving family, with this plan they will not be grieving your loss, and wondering how to pay for the services.
There is a small charge that we will add into the cremation costs for this service.
Grief
We will never let you be alone on this new journey of your life, we will be by your side throughout the entire process, if you want us to be. We do not want to intrude we only want you to be as comfortable as you can at this time and knowing there is always someone to talk to who will not judge how you are feeling is a wonderful thing.

Even after the services are over we will call you periodically to see how you are getting along. If you need someone at that time we will be there, when we can we will even come to your home to be with you.

If you need to speak to someone in the middle of the night you can call us and one of our staff will stay with you as long as they can. They will even call you back if they need to care of someone else for a moment.

Grief can be a terrible thing when you have to experience it alone. Sometimes talking to family does not help as you feel they may judge you, or tell you to begin moving on. We do not use those clichés here at Legacy in Vermont.
