I just wanted to say thanks for the beautiful memorial service. It was so personal and dignified (just how my husband would have wanted). Thank you for helping me celebrate such a wonderful life with such honor.

Pennsylvania's Legacy Cremation Services is Sensitive to Your Needs in this Time of Sorrow

Pennsylvania's Legacy Cremation Services is sensitive to you needs in this time of sorrow. We understand what it is like to lose a loved one and we want to be able to help in every way we can, from keeping cremation costs low, to helping you deal with grief.
Cremation Costs Compared to Funeral Costs
While exact funeral or cremation costs are dependent on your individual preferences we can say that cremation costs are much lower than funerals. Yes we service both of them and the choice is personal not only one made by which price is lower.
Some people may feel that no matter how low cremation costs are that they will never want to be cremated and that is why there is a choice.
When you compare the two cremation services and the funeral, side by side there comes a point very early one when the cremation process stops while the funeral goes on. This is where the cost variation comes in. See below:

Cremation Services Funeral Process
Transportation to crematorium
Cremation
Transportation from crematorium
Purchase of urn
Placement in permanent urn
Memorial Service
Rental of viewing room or rooms
Rental of Hearse
Rental of Limousines
Transportation to a Mass if desired
Transportation to cemetery
Opening of Plot
Payment for a vault or liner
Gathering after the funeral
Transportation to funeral home
Embalming
Cleansing and dressing
Make up
Purchase of a casket
Purchase of clothing

As you can see the list on the right for funerals is much more extensive than the one on the left for cremation services. It is really the embalming, casket, and burial that add to the price.
Memorials or Funeral Service - the Difference
When you are trying to make the decision between cremation services in Pennsylvania or funerals, you really need to know what the specifics are before you can make that decision.
A memorial happens after the cremation process. It can be anywhere you like, you can either have the urn present or not, and you can also choose to celebrate the life of your loved one instead of sitting in a viewing room.
A funeral service on the other hand, takes place in the funeral home where the embalming took place, the body will be present in either an open or closed coffin surrounded by flowers, there will be chairs lined up in rows, and the only similar part is that you can also choose to celebrate your loved ones life.
A Celebration of Life
A celebration of life service happens when you choose to reflect on the unique life of your loved one. There are many days in a life, yet so little time in which to celebrate them, so the key is to find the best of the memories you have, along with items to go along with those memories so you can have a celebration of life service.
The items could be pictures you have or a film, maybe a special hat or coat they loved to wear, possibly a fishing set, or golf bag. Anything your loved one enjoyed can be used to celebrate their life, it is just a matter of placement.
Pennsylvania's legacy Cremation Services can even take photos and put them onto a DVD disk that can be set to music and played at the viewing.
Legacy will make all of the arrangements for this and even help you with ideas. This service will however, be added to the cremation costs.
Pre planning Your Own Services
Planning ahead for your own funeral or cremation service is quickly catching on. People want to know that after they are gone, they will be treated how they wanted to be, not how the family sees fit.
This is something that we at Pennsylvania's Legacy Cremation Services can help you with. We will make an appointment for either us to come to your home or you to come to our offices, and we will sit down with a planning specialist. We will bring brochures, booklets, funeral home information of those in the area, and a price list for all of the different items that will go into either the funeral or the cremation services including choice of memorials.
You can take your time in making your decision and call us when you are ready. We will come to your home and take down all of your information. If you want there are some Pennsylvania Legacy Services that will let you pre-pay for your services at the price of today, not the price when you pass away. Not only does this save you money, but it can also save your family a lot of stress when that day finally comes.
Pennsylvania's Legacy Cremation Services is sensitive to you needs we understand what it is like to lose a loved one and we want to be able to help in every way we can, from keeping cremation costs low, to helping you deal with grief.
