Cremation: The Perfect Way to Celebrate a Life
Losing a loved one is inevitable, and we understand how devastating that can be. If you’re responsible for making the final arrangements, that can feel overwhelming. That is why your first call should be to Legacy Cremation Services – the premiere cremation provider assisting families in your area – where our professional cremation consultants are available around the clock to help you through every decision.
Affordable cremation packages serving Minneapolis, MN: Let’s Talk.
Why purchase a cremation package? Because it is the reasonably priced alternative for final arrangements, offering a customized, dignified and meaningful tribute at a cost far less than a traditional funeral and burial. When a loved one passes away, we are often caught unaware, and we may be financially unprepared. With all the options available, cremation costs are less prohibitive than traditional funerals – at a time when finances are the last thing you want to think about. Your family can start the grieving process without incurring additional financial strain.
Why cremation pre-planning? Family-owned for two decades, Legacy always provides quality cremations at an exceptional value. However, pre-planned cremation arrangements offer a respectful alternative that alleviates the burden of making all those decisions at a critical time. Minneapolis residents can plan with today’s prices, rather than a potentially higher future price.
Direct cremation. The most cost effective alternative is a direct cremation, which cuts out the extras that aren’t important to everyone. The body is picked up directly from the place of death and taken to a crematorium by Legacy, where it is held until the cremation process can begin (this is usually about two days; cremation takes place much faster than a burial would).
There is no embalming and no need for a casket. Two of the significant costs are therefore eliminated, and it is better for the environment. If the family would like to have a viewing, this can be done very informally.
If you are in contact with a specific funeral home, find out if that home has an onsite crematorium. If not, they will outsource the cremation, adding to your costs. Let our cremation counselors help you get in contact directly with a crematorium, and cut out the middleman.
Traditional customs usually cost a lot. We can help you think of non-traditional ways you and your family and friends can say goodbye to a loved one. You may want to consider having a memorial service in your own home or there may be other facilities that you can rent for a small memorial service after the cremation. A community center or park may be the ideal setting for people to gather together to share stories and memories about the deceased.
How to save on an urn. Legacy has many urns that are inexpensive, but attractive. However, you can even use something that is not specifically designed as an urn. Any beautiful container with a solid lid can be used to hold the ashes of your loved one, after the cremation process is completed.
If you have chosen to scatter your loved one’s ashes you may not even want to use an urn. A container is provided by Legacy and that will suffice until the scattering of the cremains.
Scattering the ashes is budget-friendly. When purchasing a cremation package, you forgo a casket and embalming; with scattering the ashes you forgo an urn. You can also forgo the cost of an elaborate service when scattering the ashes – just have friends and family gather and you’ll find that this is a healthy way to say goodbye.
How to save on a formal service with a casket. Sometimes, family members will feel that a formal service is very important and they will want to have an open casket funeral, prior to the cremation process. If this is the case you can still save money. Choose a lower-cost combustible casket made for cremation, or rent a casket from the funeral home. This will ensure that your loved one still has the kind of service that you deem important.
You’ve got options. Cremation lends itself to celebrating the life of your loved one in a way that honors your family’s spiritual beliefs, as well as the uniqueness of the deceased. Our cremation consultants have seen it all; we know what works and what doesn’t, but we’re honored to sit and listen to your specific needs and feelings.
You can express your love and respect for a recently deceased friend or family member and provide a service that is worthy of them. Talk with a Legacy cremation counselor to discuss photographic displays, videos and slideshows, flowers, music, lighting, memorial websites, and memorial programs.
The meaningful and creative possibilities are endless.
