Washington Cremation Services
Dealing with the passing of a loved one is one of the hardest things we'll ever have to deal with in life and, while Washington Cremation Services cannot take away your pain, they can help you with your arrangements so you can concentrate on you and your family's grief. You will receive assistant in making final arrangements either in person or over the phone. You'll have the convenience of not having to leave your home during this trying time.
Cremation services in Washington are offered through cremation agencies and several funeral homes. Unlike some agencies that operate like a "well-oiled machine", we offer a more personal touch and encourage you to talk about your loved one and express any wishes you may have or the deceased may have had.
Sometimes a person may live in Washington but have family in another state.
If you'd like a service in both states, we can make referrals to other states. Cremation costs in Washington may be slightly different in other states; however, specific details will be explained to you as well. You will be treated with the compassion and understanding you need during this time, whether you choose cremation services in Washington or in another state.
The Grieving Process
Although many people think that a funeral is the most thought-provoking part of losing a loved one, the grieving process can consume even more of your thoughts. You'll want to talk about your loved one, share memories and spend time with family during this difficult period.
Cremation services in Washington can take care of the large arrangements such as organizing a service, transporting the body and completing important documentation involved when someone dies. We also encourage you to share your thoughts, ask any questions you may have and express your feelings. We don't do this because it's included in cremation costs in Washington - we do this because we care.
What Can I Do With the Ashes?
As next of kin, you have the choice to dispose of the ashes where and when you see fit. The remains may be scattered in the following areas:
- Private property (with the owner's permission)
- Public or government land (with approval from the agency in control of the land
- National parks (with the chief park ranger's permission)
- Public navigable waters within a 3-mile limit
- Pacific Ocean beyond a 3-mile limit (You must report the scattering to the EPA Regional Office within 30 days)
A burial transit permit and authorization for cremation must be obtained before cremation can take place. Although embalming is not required, human remains being held for cremation that are not embalmed must be kept in a refrigerated unit.
In Washington, cremation services may be part of a package deal that covers all aspects of the funeral service, or you may choose to have the funeral home only provide specific items.
What About Paperwork?
From the time a person passes and right through the cremation, family members are expected to deal with many things. These may include notifying family members of the passing, viewing the body prior to cremation, deciding on what type of service there should be and just plain grieving and dealing with their loss. What they don't need to deal with is mounds of paperwork involved when someone passes.
Also available in Washington cremation costs when you select certain packages is taking care of small details and paperwork so you can focus your time and energy on more important things, like family. Documentation and details may include notifying the newspaper, filling out Social Security forms, obtaining death certificates, obtaining any necessary cremation certificates and working with the obituary, among others. Talk to us about your needs.
If Cremation is Your Wish
If you wish to be cremated upon your death, you can sign a preauthorization form in front of a witness. If prearrangements are not made prior to your death, authorization can be given by the person you have designated as your advance directive or by your next of kin.
If cremation is something you've considered, it's recommended that you make arrangements and sign the necessary forms now while you still can. Your family will be grateful to not have to make these decisions at an already difficult and heart-wrenching time.
